Dear Colleagues!
We are pleased to bring you the third issue of our journal in 2018.
In “Telecommunication and radioengineering” section, you can find a paper addressed to the tasks of developing models to study nonlinear phase distortions in transionospheric radio channels employed by wideband space communication systems. The authors have proposed a method that allows to estimate distortions with the use of ionospheric data gathered by means of GNSS technology.
“Computer engineering and informatics” section starts with a paper where the authors proposed an approach to computer pre-processing of an electroencephalogram (EEG) to obtain a map with the results of a shape analysis and frequency map with
the characteristics of EEG oscillations. Pre-processing allows a clinician to objectively, efficiently and quickly perform the intellectual part of the EEG analysis. The following paper presents the algorithms aimed at solving the problem of detecting the R-peaks of the electrocardiogram (ECG) signals by choosing an adaptive threshold value. In the third paper of this section, the authors proposed a new algorithm for detecting ECG R-peaks with the use of wavelet transforms. The algorithm efficiency was experimentally estimated by means of ECG signals from the MIT-BIH database. The final paper of the section presents the results of a numerical experiment on estimating the allowable accuracy of approximation of harmonic functions by piecewise linear and polynomial
methods.
The “Electronics” section includes a paper addressed to the analytical and experimental studies of small-sized antennas and microwave antenna arrays created with the use of printed circuit board technology (microstrip or patch antennas). The second paper presents the outcomes of developing the plans of experiments considering the linear drift of the quality indicator of electronic facilities.
The final section reports on the results of the 13th International Scientific Conference "Hole Burning, Single Molecule and Related Spectroscopies: Science and Applications" (HBSM, Suzdal), where scientists from the Volga State University of Technology made oral reports.
